During the winter we were approached by a team from Region Uppsala looking for our support in a project to implement technology-assisted pharmaceutical validation of drugs used at the Akademiska University Hospital and other public care facilities in Region Uppsala. The project fits into the regional healthcare’s ambition to achieve so-called Closed Loop Medication, where the digitalisation with regards to drug administration and management is increased to a level where currently error-prone tasks are removed.
Together with the Region we have applied for funding from UU Innovation to start off a collaboration where we will assist with our expertise within systems design, digital work environments and sociotechnical systems while applying our action research approach to study this exciting next step in the Region’s digital transformation.
